I'm not really a fan of the Network or ATAC. I like the Casefiles waaaaay better then the UB, but the Network it's self isn't that much better then ATAC. And if ATAC was in the Casefiles world it wouldn't be as bad, it's the series more then the agency for me.

1. Frank and Joe don't officially work for the Network. I haven't read the book, but I'm sure there were other reasons/circumstances too.
2. At the time of the Network, we were not as technologically advanced. So there isn't necessarily a way for Frank and Joe to have/obtain gadgets. Although, they do have some kind of workstation in the back of their van, and I think there are mentions of using technology in some of the books.
PLUS, gadgets are just tools - they will not save anyone necessarily. What saves people from situations is quick thinking and smart thinking.
On that note, if you just mean gadgets are "cool", then some people might also think they're a cliche. However, that's subjective so that part of the discussion can't really be decided on.

It seems like Robin (and other ATAC fans) likes ATAC better because they're nicer to the Hardys, not because it fits better with the stories or is well written.

I totally agree!
Not to mention the Hardy's never used gadgets before because they didn't need them.They solved the case on skill, and as Oliva said quick and smart thinking.

Besides, with the Hardy's solving cases on their own with only occinal help from the Network, there warn't that much continuarty problems. Now that ATAC has appeared, it qite easy to notace so major problems. For example, if the mission dicks are reformated, how can an old mission be sent to the Hardys, the disk would be a music cd! But this happens in Rockey Road!

I can't see ATAC changing peoples faces, minds and in essences lives just to compleate a mission. To me the Networks thinks "There is the next mission and nothing else." As for the face changing techonology, it would be a good technology for a secret government agency to have. I'm surprised that it wasn't used more often. Think of how many criminals know the Hardy's face, and the number of times the Hardy's have had to go on "extremely secret missions" with the Network or some other government organization. If the technology had been used then the Hardy's could've had their faces changed so that bad guys wouldn't recognize them as easily as they have. And the Network should've used it in the
Best of Enemies case since the Hardy's were so well known.

The only reason ATAC helped Frank and Joe is because they WORK for ATAC! With the Network the brothers stumbled into some of the Network cases. This is not to say that ATAC is my favorite I'm sitting on the fence on this one.

So you like ATAC because it's nicer? I know the Network are jerks! Controversy adds to a story! I like the emotionless secret organizations.
And there are lots of fictional things I like, which I wouldn't like in real life - like WARD and the Assassins, two things I like in the stories but because they're totally evil I don't think I'd like to run into them on the street.

Well, I don't know how much longer we're going to go with this. But here's something I posted on another thread for ATAC fans to mull over if they want to. (Obviously, I did some editing).

Here it is, the history of the ATAC logo.
The ATAC logo was first seen in Gn #2. Here it is a brown Hawk that is pearched on the word "ATAC". Ironicaly the color sceme resembles the HB logo in Case File #1. Next it appers in #5 but this time the bird is behind ATAC's name. Then in #9 it is changed to just the word ATAC underlined and overlined. In #12 it appears restored to its #5 look.

Found it! ;D In GN#13 the ATAC logo is changed yet agin! This time it is A.T.A.C. in black letters with red fadeing into orange outlineing it. The font its self is wavey and the letters decrease in size as the word moves on.

I was in PEI when the first UB war started, although I was eventually involved in it. (From what I recall there was three or four "wars", one revolving not around the UBs, but around Star Wars and Star Trek) Although I admit I was partly responsible for the second one (The one that involved the "Worst UB Poll") and the most recent one (Much of it happened here: http://www.hardyboyscasefiles.com/forums/index.php?topic=1859.0).
I thought the whole issue was quite hilarious actually... Seeing people fight that hard for their series'. ;D I think there might have been another war after I left, because I don't remember the war that you just posted, Dan.... I only recall like 3 actual wars, maybe 4.

War 1 was the one that caused this topic to be made. War 2 was the Star Wars vs Star Trek one, also the first war to use fake quotes (it happened around the same time as War 1). Oh, and there were wars in "Calling all ATAC Fans" and "Calling all Network Fans" and "ATAC is GOOD!!!"
Basically, all we got out of the wars was nobody changed sides, but we could now group people into the ATACer category or the Networker category. Yet that was strange, since it didn't seem to be about ATAC vs. Network as much as it seemed to be about Casefiles v. UB's.

bozonessinc has vanished, and was a major part of War 3. He has been gone for more then a year now, and while he did made post after the war, they became less and less common, although there is probably other reasons for it.
The war you mentioned I think was War 1, altough War 1 had restarted a few times. Wither the times when it restarted are separate wars, although one of them was around the same time as War 3, is up for debate.
The Star War/Star Trek war was mainly between Network fans.
There was an argument in the controversial issues section (which has since vanished) about if God or Bigfoot exists. I wouldn't call it a war though, as it died down very quickly.
I now tend to ignore topics that turn into nasty arguments, such as the Play Ball one. (aka, why I should never try to post a review and argue when I'm over tired. I'm going to try to watch Play Ball again once I'm done watching the Nancy Drew series and re-review it) I would try to find every war, but you would probably be better at it then me.

I "dissapeared" for a bit due to personal issues, including school and the tragic death of my cat (I'm still mad at my neighbors for not covering the pool >:( ). But I don't know why 003Robin457 dissapeared. I also doubt it had anything to do with the war.
