There's an interesting simularity between the UBs and the Casefiles . The increasing length between release dates. The number of UBs per year has gone from 6 in 2009 to 4 this year (not counting GNs and "Gold Medal Murder"). A simular thing happened with the Casefiles just before they ended. The Casefiles went from one book a month to a book every two months. Is all of this just a coincidence? Prehaps, prehaps not.
Don't know- interesting theory though. You might be right, like Billy Joel said. 8)
I honestly haven't read a lot of the UBs but if it ends...I hope they start something different and more like the old Casefiles. I don't always feel that they are marketing them well or using the Boys' strength to their advantage. Why fix what is not broken?? I would be ecstatic if actual Casefiles or something very similar came back. It could rejuvenate the whole franchise. (Can you tell I LOVE the Casefiles?? lol)
The GNs are an improvement over some of the UBs I've read....
I guess only time will tell....
It should be noted that at the time of this post, no new "Nancy Drew Girl Detective" books have been confirmed (not counting GNs).
Frankly, I'm surprised they've even lasted this long.
Update: Another GD trilogy is coming out, the "Malibu Mayhem Trilogy". But you will have to wait till June 2011 to read the first book, "California Schemin'". Hopefully, the trilogy will turn out to be as good as the "Lost Mystery Trilogy", but I don't have my hopes up. Despite being a huge fun of the GD series, it's obvious the series jumped the shark after the "Identity Mystery Trilogy".
Wow @ the titles.
Oh boy.... ::)
"California Schemin"?
LOL it's like cool Hollywood plus a hillbilly title ;D California Schemin'
Sure- like the classic '90s TNBC show on Saturdays... "Don't wake me up when I'm dreaming-"
California Dreams :)

I thought the same thing but I did like that show back them. :) That and Hey Dude, Saved by the Bell, etc.
Saved By the Bell rules! :) I love watching that show- it STILL airs on TBS in the mornings! The show has been there in reruns for something like 10 to 20 years now! Seriously- it's that awesome! 8)
10 to 20 year?? That makes me feel OLD. lol But YES, it is awesome. I like when they're in high school the best. Middle school was okay and so were the college years. High school episodes are the best though. I really liked the one with the mystery mansion. :)
I like them all, but the high school years are by far the most popular and the episodes most people remember best.
But I started watching the show when it was called Good Morning, Miss Bliss and then I recall being a bit confused about this new show on TV that had some of the same characters from the show that I liked watching, but now it was called Saved By the Bell ;D
Wow I don't remember Good Morning, Miss Bliss. I did like her though. I just felt bad thinking Zack was cute when he was 12. lol When he was 16-18...now that's a different story. :D I liked some of the situations and different episodes more when they were in high school too. Maybe that's why they were so popular. lol
