Thanks!

Is it really a bad word or is it okay to use, if kids aren't around?

Welcome....and no, I don't think it's that bad  but I wouldn't say it to young kids. Now that I think about it, there's a lot you wouldn't say in front or to a young kid.
I'm not on here as much or I just come on for a few moments. So I trying to keep up with posts. Sorry for being MIA. I've been off on a mission with Frank and Joe! :)

For real!

Yeah. Then again, we live in a new and different word, don't we?

I voted for Frank just to even-up the poll.

I think it's sad and scary when kids know more than adults. Or when they can swear better than adults.  :-\

It is! I went to visit these kids I hadn't seen in a while, they're 7 and 8, and they were talking, one of them said something along the lines of "Oh my God, that is so gay!" and they used a bunch of other words I didn't think they should even know! They talked like they were 18 years old!
"Hey! Don't do that here. You'll mess up my bedspread."
Rolling his eyes, Joe sat on the window sill and started sawing.
"Thank you, Joe."
"You're welcome, Martha Stewart."

That's terrible! :o Then again (unfortunately) I'm not shocked. There was a time when "gay" meant something totality different! ::)

I know. I miss that time. I still say "gay" in it's original meaning.  :)

The first time I heard it in it original meaning. I wondered what it meant. I don't say it though, in case it gets mistook for what it now means! :o ::)
