The cover to the 1st book in the upcoming Hardy Boys Undercover Brothers "Murder House" trilogy has been revealed at Amazon.com. "Deprivation House" is scheduled to be released May 20, 2008. At this time it is unclear whether this will also be Mission #22 or if the regular missions are on hiatus or if they have been permently replaced with a new mini-series format.

Also a quick reminder that both Graphic Novel #11: Abracadeath and Mission #20: Feeding Frenzy have both hit book stores today and are also available from Amazon.com.

Well, I like the cover! I just recieved Feeding Frenzy in the mail today....haven't had a chance to read it just yet.
Trilogy, eh? Wonder if it will be good in UB format - it will be interesting to find out!
It'll be tough to live up to the Operation: Phoenix trilogy from the Casefiles.
True, they were great books.
Well, with the way the Undercover Brothers books have been going lately, they have been living up to the high standards set by the Original/early-Digest series or even the Casefiles.
So, you think the Undercover Brothers have been improving?
Oh, sorry, I meant to type haven't been living up to the high standards set by...[/i]. I must've been a little tired when I wrote that last night.
Yeah, I agree, their okay, but not as good as the Casefiles. A lot of times I can only find a few good points in the books, yet in the Casefiles (or at least the earlier ones) it seems to flow a lot easier.
I picked up my copy of Comic Con Artist today and it has a preview of the upcoming TRILOGY in the back of the book. 15 pages of preview.
I just received an email yesterday from chapters.ca saying that my copy was shipped, so it might be arriving today, or I might not get it till Tuesday.
I have posted the plot summary of book #1 Deprivation House on The Hardy Boys Wiki, using information given in the 15 page sneak peek in Comic Con Artist. Click on the link below to read it.

Thanks for the info, HBWiki. :)
Hmm, the intro in Comic Con Artist makes it look interesting. Time will Tell, I suppose.
I just received Comic Con Artist yesterday as well. It appears that not only will the cover be changed, but also the chapter layouts and how the "Frank" and "joe" part of the series are indentified. As I recall, this is only the fourth time in Hardy Boys history where a preview was provided in the books. The other times being when the Casefiles were first coming out, Nancy Drew Files #9 had a few pages from Dead On Target, and then the write-ups for Evil, Inc.; Cult Of Crime; The Lazarus Plot. Casefiles #65 and 66 had a preview for the Ultra Thriller Time Bomb (it was the same preview in both books). Casefiles #49 Dirty Deeds and #50 Power Play, also had the same preview for Tom Swift #1 The Black Dragon. This preview was reprinted in every printing of those two books until they were declared out of print.
Yeah, I remeber seeing the Frank and Joe on the top and thinking, Huh, they changed the layout. By the way, is it just my edition, or do they have three chapters in a row being Frank's? In mine, they had Joe speaking but they had Frank at the beginning of the chapter.
I'll have to check. I just glanced through since I'm reading the Voodoo Plot (and reorganizing my bookshelf)).
I read mine and they don't have chapters. It is basically Chapter 2 that they printed from the book, which is a Frank chapter, but Joe cuts in and they have Joe's name when he does, and vice versa. But, boy is this ever going to be a weak trilogy. We can already tell a lot about the trilogy from the sample.
1. It is going to be dealing with a "Big Brother" style reality show. Between the graphic novels and the regular novels, the Hardy's have already dealt with reality shows like 6 times. Plus, between 2002 and 2005 there were another 2 or 3 reality show based Digest books. And Bayport Buccanneers was a disaster of a book.
2. Is it just me, or are you getting tired of almost every case that ATAC sends the Hardy's on starts because some one received some sort of threat, whether it was a pasted note, or a phone call or an email threat.
3. The Hardy's have to protect another high-profiler just like they did in Top Ten Ways To Die, Blown Away, Trouble In Paradise, Death And Diamonds, Madhouse, Hyde & Shriek & Terror On Tour.
4. With the threats the Hardy's are now detectives that may be turned into homocide detectives once more.
I don't know about you, but it seems like the Undercover Brothers series is running out of gas. Constantly recycling plots and storylines is not the way to make a successful series, especially one that is only 3 years old.
Yeah, I noticed almost every book (except for Wanted, one of the best books in my opinion) had at least one or two people murdered and the Hardys investigated. Also, about the chapters, I meant in the Comic Con Artist book itself, the chapters first person narrator repeated.
Deprivation House is out in 16 days! ;D ;D

I'm was really looking forward to this trilogy; its been over 13 years since the last trilogy (Ring of Evil), and since the UB series is going nowhere I thought it would be a nice change of pace. But since the preview came out I haven't been so excited, because I don't think a reality TV show is the best setting for a Hardy Boys book, let alone a whole trilogy! Still hoping it will be good...
Well, I got an email over the weekend from Chapters.ca (I order and by my new books from them here in Canada) saying that Deprivation House was shipped over the weekend.
You live in Canada, Tom ??? ???
Yeah, in fact, I live in Ontario about an hour and a half drive northwest of Ottawa.
Deprivation House is out today!!!
I received my copy a week ago, and its been in the Coles store here in Pembroke for that long.
I was just following the calendar. I knew you could already get it.
So...has anyone read it yet?
I have! I was slightly disappointed with the first two chapters only because the ghostwriter wrote the brothers in the usual mean teasing manner. But as the story progressed the brother's characters got better as did the story.
I picked up my copy of ''Deprivation House'' today :) and noticed that the cover is slightly different then the one on the Internet.
1) The word The is written in the ''H'' in Hardy.
2) Undercover Brothers isn?t written in the ''B'' in Boys, but underneath.
3) The title of the book is written on the left, rather then the right.
4) The overall the cover is lighter then the one seen on the Internet.
I?ve put up a gallery at The Hardy Boys Wiki, with images of the new graphic design (sorry the images are out of focus, will upload better ones soon.

I just finished it, better then I expected but I don't think a whole three books is going to work very well. Will post a more in depth review on the Spoiler Board later.

If you think the Murder House trilogy is any good, then you should check out the
Operation: Phoenix/Time Bomb or the
Ring Of Evil/Dead of Night trilogies and epilogues.
Both the Operation: Phoenix/Time Bomb and Ring of Evil/Dead Of Night are, in the case of Phoenix 10000000 times better, and Ring 10000 times better than Murder House.
Do you not like the ub's?
Even if you do like UB, most fans who have read ''Operation: Phoenix'' consider it to be one of the greatest Hardy stories of all-time.
They also use rebutted arguments and clam the UBs are more action packed, witch as anyone who has acculy read the casefile is not true.

Unless the UB's improve, compared to even
The Hardy Boys Are: The Clues Brothers, the series is one big fat joke and a big smear to the Hardy Boys name. Somehow I don't think Edward Stratemeyer would've let his series get to this low if he were still alive, nor would Harriet Stratemeyer Adams either.

I think we can all agree that the
Murder House trilogy
definitely didn't live up to
Operation: Phoenix.

Are you trying to say that the clues brothers are embarassing, yes, they are because there for little kids. I have read some casefiles and they are good, and some maybe more action packed, you know this forum is starting to change my opinion a little.
But, I still hold true to my favorites are the UBs because when I read them I feel like I am there, likes its a movie, but I am just reading text.
No, I'm not saying that the Clues Brothers are embarassing, its just that until the UB's debutted, the Clues Brothers had been considered the series that had not been given that much attention during the writing and editing process. While most of the stories were mysteries that kids in Grade 2 could relate to, there were quite a few stories that had extremely weak Grade 2 level plots. Plus there were a number of spelling and grammatical errors throughout the series. So from 2000 (the year that the Clues Brothers) till 2005, the Clues Brothers books were considered the joke books of the Hardy Boys line. But ever since the Undercover Brothers series came out with its insanely weak plots, The Clues Brothers are seen to have been better written than the new series, even though the Undercover Brothers have more volumes and the series has run for a year longer than the Clues Brothers (1997-2000).
Word up. What are we talking about? Oh right. What Tom said is probably right, so go with that.
I think they were just to introduce kids to the world of hardy boys. Then when your reading level went up you could then read UbS!
