Can anybody tell me how to get the icons like the pictures of the hardy boys.

You mean the "avatar" pictures on the left of each person's post? Those can be found in your profile settings. Choose "Forum Profile Information" on the left side menu and the choices should be right at the top.

Speaking of Avatars or Icons, I have just added several more to all four categories. Obviously more fall into the Frank and Joe categories, but all four categories do have at least one new image! Enjoy!
