Did Murder House live up to your expectations?

Option 2: No

Option 3: Other
votes: 0
So, now that you've read the Murder House story arc, did it live up to your expectations? This poll will be open for 50 days and you can change your vote.
Bluntly, NO!
Before the "trilogy" came out, I was hoping $&$ would publish a new Undercover Brothers trilogy, since the Casefiles ones were so good, and I wanted a change. So, when I first heard about the new trilogy I was really excited, expecting a "epic" mystery that took the Hardys three whole books to solve, and even hoping there might be a series changing event or two...but alas I was wrong - what we got was three stand alone mysteries in the same location that wasn't that much different from other UB, and the only change is the cover art.
A total disappointment!
Well, sort of, a little bit. Not really.
So, no?
Yeah, pretty much No.
Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention it in my OP, but you can change your vote.
Got it.

I wasn't disappointed. I didn't find the three as stand alone's. IMO they were a continuation of the story/mystery with a twist added in. I know I'll probably be the only one to think so.

I just finished
Deprivation House and I found that the author was grasping at straws at the last minute trying to find something to keep it going into a second book. It the author's grasping turned into a pretty illogical and stupid explanation.
SPOILERS BELOW
With
Operation Phoenix the author had a bomb go off in warehouse on a dock leaving the boys and the readers to think that Fenton Hardy had been killed and Frank stating that it was up to the Hardys to bring the killer of Fenton Hardy to justice. But the author also left plenty of open plot points still open since there was an actual gang involved in the smuggling operation in the
Endangered Species and the author kept having the crooks refer to a bigger boss.
Then with
Ring Of Evil #1: Tagged for Terror we saw the Hardy's investigating a luggage theft ring and we were left thinking that until very close to the end when the Hardy's discovered a clue left by one of the people they were keeping an eye on that indicated that the luggage theft ring was just one small piece of the "pie", whereas there were a couple of other giant pieces that the boys still hadn't discovered. Plus there was the introduction of the Network working on the same case because the Assassins were up to no good and had been using the airport where the luggage theft ring had been operating. Then the author ends the book with the Hardys taking a flight to Alaska to go after more of the gang and leaving people wondering what is going to happen next.
Murder House #1: Deprivation House sees the Hardys wrap up the case and get permission to stay on because they saved a person's life. And then, in a case of coincidence, someone leaves a dead bird in a bath tub????? That's not a good lead in to book 2 in a trilogy. With that it felt like the author was just trying to find someway to keep the supposed story going even though the story was over.

How funny that two people can read the same book but get a different take on it. I never thought the ending of the first book was the end....yes Frank and Joe solved the mystery and were allowed to continue the game BUT.....to me finding the dead bird let Frank and Joe know that their job wasn't done yet, that they still had to find who was sending the death threats. That's just my opinion.
Spoilers ahead
I wasn't sure if it was the end, because I thought Mitch might have been working with the person who left the bird...but I was wrong, so to me it was the end of the first story (IMO).
And I finished the second book, House Arrest yesterday and i found that the book was the same as Deprivation House. The author never suggested anything during the whole book saying that there was only one suspect doing the stuff until the very end when Mary is confessing and tries to convince everyone that she only did certain things.
The first two books so far have been stand-alone titles and have had no relation to either one. The lead in to the next one has just been based on coincidence, nothing more.

Wow... I think these rankings are messed. The UB's are way better then the rankings on here!
Networkers are a little prejudgest aginst UBs.
Is it possible to think both are good, cause I am starting to move over to the network side.. (that means you don't have to hate me anymore nzone)
I think Case files are good but all I'm saying is UBs are better.
I agree with you robin, I will never become a Network fan, I was kidding. You all know I have always stood for UBS!
I don't hate you, you just say stupid stuff sometimes ::)

Why? Because they changed almost every thing we loved about the Hardy Boys.
Well, there don't care about the UB side of the hardy boys!!!

Prejudice weaning they pre judge things they see a UB and they thing its bad before they read it and that is there first impression and as some of you may know it takes an additional 20 positive incounters to reverse a bad first impression and it usually doesn't take 20+ days to read a UB.

Takes me 30 minutes! 2 hours for a casefile... I think!
No matter what I'm reading I read a minimum of 2 chapters a day. After that I either read more, read a graphic novel or do homework.
Really! Some days I read the whole book, I get that much into books. I know I'm addict to books!
I could read a book in a day and I have before but my lifes been so bussy lately as I said 2 cahpters is a minimum.
Sorry I read that wrong robin, yeah at least 2 for me, if i don't get that.. I am super upset at myself!

Not true! I do like some UBs, including Murder at the mall. it's the UB fans who are prejudgest about the casefiles! Besides, the UBs I think should have been a five part miniseries, cause the athors are messing up on the later UBs.
Like I said before Casefiles and the Network are good but UBs and ATAC are better.

As I said, UBs and ATAC are fine, the Casefiles were better. I've read as much as I could of the UBs, but sadly, S$S dosen't care about how about a book is just that it makes $
I will admit that the UBs are better then the Clue Brothers, and some of the originals, but having read over 100 hardy boys books, it's hard not to notace the UBs flaws
Actually I find the Clues Brothers are better than the UB's.
I'm not even going to comment on that..... :-\
Ok I am. I do agree that Rocky Road was worse then the Clue Brothers, but books like Wanted, and Murder At The Mall, were way better.

Okay, I'm surprised that that last post got through, since when I sent it, for some reason MPF went down and I couldn't even access the site by typing in hardyboyscasefiles.com or going through Google.

Not ture. I just read ''Murder House'' and tried to start it with a positive outlook, and the book started pretty good, but went down hill after that. IMO
The first UBs I read I really did have a bad impression, but it can just as easily reverse itself, just as it did for a few select UBs afterwards. So I think I'm fair, anyways.
Holy,
I just read 5 casefiles, in the last few days. I start to read a UB and I'm all whats up with the big print. It starts to sound kiddy when you read casefiles. I still love you UB's but before I never noticed the difference!

$&$ must use the BIG PRINT to fill up page space.
They must, they could just make the book smaller. Or are they trying to make it easier to read for young children...

I don't have dial-up. But it was like the site, while google was able to get a trace of it, when I went to access it, it was like the site didn't exist.

You must be the only person who didn't think that the trilogy didn't suck. Have you read the
Operation: Phoenix or
Ring of Evil trilogies yet, hardy boys fan?
MH was pretty good, not the best but pretty good.I need to read OP. #65 is the begging right?

Operation Phoenix begins with Casefiles #64
Endangered Species, then goes into #65
No Mercy and gets wrapped up in #66
The Phoenix Equation. And if you want to read an epilogue to the story you should look for the
Hardy Boys and Tom Swift Ultra Thriller Time Bomb.
I have Time Bomb but I'm waiting to read it 'till after OP.
