Title: #76 Tagged For Terror
Post by: SDLagent on July 23, 2007, 04:19:50 PM
I picked up Casefile # 76 Ring of Evil #1 Tagged for Terror from the bookstore the other day and I want to read it, but if it ends with a cliff-hanger I know I?ll go crazy. ;)  Does it end with a cliff-hanger?

I haven't read it yet but if they wrote that mini series anything like the operation phoenix mini series then it will definatly be a cliff hanger.

Tagged For Terror was book one of the second Hardy Boys mini-series (Ring Of Evil that Simon & Schuster had done in 2 years, appearing from June to August 1993 (Operation: Phoenix, the other trilogy had appeared from June to August of 1992).  The other two books in the trilogy are Survival Run & The Pacific Conspiracy.  Between the two trilogies, most fans find that the Operation: Phoenix trilogy was the better written series, but Ring Of Evil was also well done.  After you've read Ring Of Evil, you should read Dead Of Night, which is considered an epilogue to the series, since the events of the trilogy play a major factor in the whole mystery plot of Dead Of Night, which takes place at Hallowe'en.

Thinks for the info!  But one more thing do you now if it ends with a cliff-hanger?

I went to read all those books, Operation: Phoenix Trilogy, Ring of Evil Trilogy, Dead of Night, and the Hardy Boys and Tom Swift Ultra Thrillers.  But I only own one Casefile (#76) and my library only has #11, #30, #32, #72, (I have read all of those except #30)   and many of later Casefiles which I don?t care for much.  So it will be awhile before I read any more of the really good Casefiles. :'(

I don't mean to sound rude, but what do you not get when I said that Tagged for Terror was #1 in the trilogy (and a trilogy is a story with 3 parts).  That seems to say that the story is continued.  Both Tagged for Terror and Survival Run end on cliff hangers.

Is the airport in this book based on a real life airport?  Like the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport maybe: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlanta_Airport (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlanta_Airport)

Does any body now if it?s based on this airport?  ???

Yeah, there's a cliffhanger but it's not too bad. That would be cool if it actually was based on a real airport.

I just read the Ring of Evil Trilogy and I liked it more then Operation Pheonix.  I liked the action w/ the Network and the Asassins.

Wow! You're the first person I've ever heard of that liked Ring of Evil better than Operation Phoenix!

I've never heard that before either. What part was better to you in Ring of Evil, Frank?

First of all, I think the title of OP is better.

And I like who Fenton's you know what motivated the Hardys.

Operation: Phoenix is really good because of Phoenix's attempted murder of Fenton.  Ring Of Evil never had anything like that, plus, in Evil the Hardy's end up working for the Network, whereas in Phoenix, the Hardy's solved the case by themselves.

Yeah, the Hardys were definetly more independent in Phoeinx.

I think it might be pretty cool if they wrote a three-book trilogy in the UB series.

Yes, I would like that too. Hopefully, S&S will get the same idea.

Just posting to say that I find this quite funny, considering that now S&$ have gone overboard with the triogies.

Murder House
I think a lot fans agree that this was not really a trilogy, just a bunch of random stories slapped together because they took place on a reality TV set.
QuoteDouble Danger
While it does have a little more continuity in the story, it not really improved over the previous..."trilogy".

Galaxy X?  Oh boy, if people are already forgetting trilogies that are not even out yet, what does this mean for the series?
