If I am rembering right The Hardy Boys and their Dad have had a single engine and a twin engine.
Does anyone known if they own a jet?
They don't own a jet in any books I've read so far. :)
Well, in the original Grossett & Dunlap books, The Hardys hired Jack Wayne as a charter pilot who would fly them in his plane, the Skyhappy Sal. They may own single engine and twin engine planes, but I'm not sure on that. I'm pretty sure they don't own a jet though.

Yep, I agree no jet. The Hardys definitely own a plane, which makes appearances in a number of Hardy Boys Mystery Stories. One of my many favorite Hardy books,
The Mystery of the Spiral Bridge, notes that their single-engine plane is blue and white. 8) In the Hardy Boys Mystery Stories, both Frank and Joe learn how to fly a plane and then get their pilot's licenses in the series, which is very cool. 8)

- Okay, yeah- I vaguely recall that now.
The Mystery of the Spiral Bridge is one of my favorites too- I seem to recall wondering why The Hardy Boys had their own plane when they already had Jack Wayne at the ready to fly them places? I did know that Frank and Joe both get their pilot's licenses though. I do believe there is a scene with them flying and working on that in the start of
The Ghost At Skeleton Rock.

Yep, Jack Wayne was giving them flying lessons in
The Ghost at Skeleton Rock. 8) He's also a really cool character. 8) It would definitely be more convenient and very helpful (even life-saving) at times to know how to fly a plane themselves, in case Jack was busy, and especially with the situations the Hardy brothers are often in. :)
The Ghost At Skeleton Rock is one of my favorites. I like how the planes and helicopters Frank and Joe use or ride in let them get in or out somties like they are spies or commados.

8) That's one of my favorites, too! 8) A lot of danger and excitement in that book! 8) Oh yeah, I totally agree - very cool - I like the way they do that, too!!! Frank and Joe do a great job with their skills. 8)
I particularly like The Ghost at Skeleton Rock because it does have a lot of danger and excitement, as well as a particularly good mystery. It was interesting how Chet's hobby of the moment became a big help in Frank and Joe's case in that book.
:)I have alwasys whated to known how Chet threw his voice. Thanks to the Hardy Boys I have alwasys whated to fly a plane. not sololy them but you get the idear

Exactly, very edge-of-your-seat! 8) Action, intriguing mystery - requirements to be on my favorites list! So true, Chet's hobby in this one is really cool. ;D

A really fascinating talent. 8) And flying a plane must be so cool, I like thinking about that. I would love to fly a plane and do tricks! ;D Yep. :)
Yeah, flying a plane would definitely be cool. Reading scenes like these and watching Frank and Joe fly a plane on episodes of The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries certainly pique my interest.
Hey, talking airplanes and about Chet and his hobbies, in #22 The Flickering Torch Mystery, he works on building a plane. 8)
Now that would be really cool! :) 8)
I would really like to fly a plane. Happy Thanksgiving.
With a plane the Hardys can go help people and get back in time to spend part of Thanksgiving at home. 8)
:) Happy Thanksgiving! :)
That is cool how The Hardy Boys are usaual home for the Hollaidays.
Well, even with all the work The Hardy Boys do with their cases, time with the family, and particularly at big holidays like Christmas and Easter and Thanksgiving, etc. most always is important to them.
a little of topic but The Hardy Boys have been attacked and shot at by helicopters more than once.

Oh, definitely, I can think of a number of times with helicopters involved. A lot of danger in those scenes!

Well, just think of the cover for Casefiles #47 "Flight Into Danger".
Or #72, Screamers
Or the frist grapic novel but I think those were waring shots.

That's a cool, great scene! 8)
I wish I was a movie producer or diertor I would do a movie on The Hardy Boys. I would defiatly do one with a plane in it.

Oh, yeah, that would be very cool and awesome!!! 8) In the graphic novel #19
Chaos at 30,000 Feet! there's a scene like Alfred Hitchcock's
North by Northwest with the plane chasing them down!!! Scary and thrilling excitement! 8)
Yeah- I love that Alfred Hitchcock reference! :) 8)

Me, too! 8) We've gotten to see several Alfred Hitchcock movies like
North by Northwest and
The Man Who Knew Too Much on the TCM channel. ;D 8)
Their was Harrier Jets in the first caseflies book.
Thinking about aircraft, #135 The Hypersonic Secret is a book on my list of ones I'd really like to find and read. 8) :)
It's been a long time since I've read it, but yeah, The Hypersonic Secret was great. It was the last book in The Hardy Boys Digests to maintain the classic Minstrel cover art style before moving to the new style that started in 1996. It also featured an appearance of Jamal Hawkins, who went to become another one of The Hardy Boys' chums- kind of a modern day addition and apparently African-American at that too, so that's cool. In fact, #135 depicts Jamal on the cover (at least I assume that's him there with Frank and Joe) and that may well be the only drawing of him in the books.
Glad to hear The Hypersonic Secret is great! :) The cover looks cool! 8) Oh, sure, I know who Jamal is, I've read several books with him in it - Speed Times Five, Motocross Madness just to name a couple. His dad owns Hawkins Air Service and Jamal's a pilot like Frank and Joe. 8) In Plane Sight, besides having a great title, has a lot of air action. 8)
I really need to read and find some more of The Hardy Boys books.

Lots of good reading! :) And many of the Hardy Boys Mystery Stories are available as ebooks, like
Speed Times Five,
Motocross Madness,
In Plane Sight, etc. And hopefully
The Hypersonic Secret will be sometime soon. 8) And searching for and finding paper copies is a lot of fun. :)
Frank Hardy Joe and Callie carsh land in Fire In The Sky.
I have't read it but With Out a Trace the Hardy Boys fly a ultra light airplane.
I have read Without a Trace and I can confirm that Frank and Joe fly an ultralight airplane in this book. It's been a while since I read it but I remember it as being a pretty good read. Fire in the Sky was good too, for that matter. (Of course, I'm going to say about all of The Hardy Boys books- lol. ;D) By the way, there is another plane crash in The Hardy Boys Survival Handbook as well, but Frank and Joe aren't flying that airplane.
I know they don't fly the plane but The Hardy Boys and Chet and a few others are bombed by a biplane in The Desert Giant case.
True- I'd forgotten about that one. Good catch. :) 8)
Callie and a bunch of other people are held hostage by environment extremists on a plane in Hostages of Hate.
