Didn't S&S just use an extremely similar photograph of Frank on Book 3 of the Double Danger trilogy?

And what is up with having someone crouching on the latest set of covers?

Actually this is a pretty good cover if you ignore the photo shop style. This time they actually use light to guide your eye trought the piece and the cover actually tells you a little about the book!
Heay I wonder if the dog is Sherlock?

Biff's dog...so, the answer's probably no.

Just a thought; you never know. But it would be nice to see Biff.

I don't recall hearing anything about Biff in any of the Undercover Brothers series.

Because he hasn't been in any of the UB's.

It would aslo be nice if they would stop making "Trilogys".

Althought this cover isn't perfect it still is one of the best UB trilogy covers.

It looks okay if you glance at it really quick from a distance ;)

But the basic idea isn't that bad IMO. I'm not talking about their "stances", but the location at night and stuff.

I wish they could just use better looking "actors"

One word: "budget".

Hahaha, just kidding. Really.

Well, everything is on a budget, come to think of it...

How would you like to bet that this "Trilogy" won't really be a trilogy at all, but just the same story copied 3 times?

Or maybe even Paul Bachem (Digests 89-112)
...George Gaadt (Digests 59-64, Wanderer covers)
...Steven Assel (Digests 65-72, Wanderer covers)?

ALOL @ Robin and JHR.

I wonder how difficult it would be to find some models that everyone agrees on. Even if it isn?t everyone?s first choice, but two that are just ?good enough? to match what we generally think.

Normally I would say none of us should pick on the models, but since their job is to portray a character and to take a decent photo, I suppose it?s alright. Then again, whoever?s directing their stances is responsible too.

BTW, where does it say that Frank and Joe are good looking? Half-serious.

Well, hero boys are always dashingly handsome....

ALOL. I like how you phrased that.

Villains can also be good looking and their innocent appearance/act can deceive people too.

I'm not saying you said villains have to be ugly, but just throwing that out there, anyways.

If you read any of the first 58 Hardy Boys, you won't have any doubt what the Hardy boys look like.

Very funny - I was wondering when photos would start popping up in this thread ;)

But the key word is ?can?. Villains can be good looking. Or are you going to hire that dude for the movie?

Do you know if they ever say something like: "Joe is a good looking blond"? Or is it more like: "Girls are charmed by Joe"? (Sort of a rhetorical question).

Actually, since girls like Frank in the UBs, I wonder if we're suppose to just assume he's really good looking or if it's more about his demeanor of being polite and shy-ish (and they find that endearing).

Well, from what I can remember the originals describes both Frank and Joe as "handsome" or "good looking".
Title: Re: Hardy Boys: Killer Mission cover
Post by: JoeHardyRocks on May 10, 2009, 11:31:02 AM
Well, if it was the originals, they probably phrased it like "They were two strapping young lads". :P :D

Lol! Thanks for giving me an idea!

Here is how they would be described (although, I didn?t attempt the Digests, Casefiles, or the GNs).

Originals:

They were two strapping young lads.*

*Copyrighted by JHR, Inc.

UBs:

Joe Chapter ? ?I looked at myself in the mirror, and staring back at me, I found a very attractive and striking, young guy. I winked at the blond hottie. He definitely had style.?

Frank Chapter ? ?I caught a reflection of myself while passing by a store window. I turned to see two girls staring at me, blushing and giggling. Thankfully, I knew that every hair was in its place. Grooming is important.?

Doesn't that sound an awful lot like Hazed?  Plus the Reading Level being for Grade 3-7...boy I don't know if that is bad or good.

Sounds like a mix of the Nancy Drew File "Sisters in Crime" and the horrible UB "Hazed". This is most likely not going to be a good trilogy. This only thing I find interesting is the dog, is it going to be a new major character?

Yeah. Perhaps the producers have finally gotten the message that they have long since jumped the shark and decided to introduce a new character to freshen things up. Who knows? Maybe they are going to introduce Biff Hooper and his dog at the private school that the Hardys will be "investigating" at.

I think the title came to be when the writers relized that killer also is slang for awsome. So the title means "awsome mystery".  ::)

You make it sound like they wrote the title in a foreign language, and then realized that they needed to "spice" the title up.
