something fun abt da parrot
(you text a lot, don't you? ;D)
Has Playback ever had a vital role to any of the UB books? Beyond comic relief, I don't know what purpose he really serves to the series- although of course, it is nice to see The Hardys' pet. (Well, Aunt Gertrude's really, I suppose.)
Maybe like serve as a carrier pigeon? That would be pretty neat.
i think he's just comic relief. but, me likes him anyways! :D
@ Blitzen yeah......i do txt lil 2 much!1
thought so. :)
:D and @ MacGyver yeha i think dat idea(pigeon) would be great!!!! and it would also make it more fun to read,i actully like da parrot
yeah- well, I wouldn't expect to see it all the time, but once or twice would make the parrot seem more useful...but it's okay for him to be there just as a pet and for comic relief too.
idk he isnt useful buh still its just entertaining to have him as a pat....especially da parts WIMPS;)(once in a while)
WIMPS?
When imps maniacally pulverize skunks? I agree, that is pretty cruel...
ROTFLOL...wait...that's...slightly disturbing....and imagin the stench! :o
naw i dunt mean like that
buh its just funny at times of mystery, which i would prefer :P
There were a couple of times when I thought the comic relief was pretty good, when Playback inserts his comments at just the right time like you said ("Wimps! Wimps! Wimps!").
That's cool- I do appreciate good humor and well placed comic relief is an important factor in The Hardy Boys books.
But in the past series Chet provided comic relief pretty well. Just saying.
yeah. i have always wondered why the hardy's friends didn't have many parts in the UBs. but then again, they went undercover a lot, and friends would have been detrimental to their stories sometimes, i guess.

True. Of course, I think Blitzen pointed out a good reason why perhaps the chums didn't show up quite so much (if at all) in the UB books. Which is unfortunate because I'd much rather have Chet and the rest of the gang there than the Hardys pet parrot...

Chet and Iola did show-up a few times, and Callie appeared once in the UB novels. Brian and Belinda Conrad made regular appearances.
I'm glad Chet, Iola and Callie all got in there at least once or more. Too bad Phil, Biff and Tony most likely won't get an appearance at all.
well, they only have a few lines in the beginning chapters, don't they? i. e. chet and iola in the beginning of buccaneer bay
Chet has a supporting role Extreme Danger, Hurricane Joe, Murder at the Mall (along with Iola), and Comic Con Artist. He also plays a part in Wanted.

I forgot about their existence for a bit. Wow. (Though I know Belinda was in a recent graphic novel...I think?)
Yeah, Chet was/is good comic relief.
I think the writers of the UB novels forgot about Belinda too. For awhile she didn't appear.
