Okay, I know both the terms "international" and "foreign" depend on what country you're situated in, but in this case, since The Hardy Boys are primarily an American book series (set in America, started by an American, published in America, etc. - yes, many of the original stories written by a great Canadian writer, but you know what I'm saying)- these terms for the purpose of this thread will mean Hardy Boys books not published in America.
Perhaps the most famous of these are the Collins and Armada editions published in Great Britain. I own some of these and remember being rather confused as a child jumping between the British listing for the Original series to the American standard.
Anyway, if you want to see a really awesome gallery of most every cover in the British printings, just go to http://www.hardyboys.co.uk - I love it! :) 8)
If you have a favorite from there to post, go for it. (Though if you're going to post a ton of them, I would recommend just posting the link rather than the actual image itself, as that will cut down on bandwidth usage for that site.)
And of course, this thread can be for any covers anyone finds from other parts of the world too. I happened to run across a few today that seem to be from either Indonesia or possibly The Philippines- I'm not quite sure which it is. But I'm leaning towards Indonesia since I translated the website I found from Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesia's official language) and was able to get a passable translation in English. I could still try Tagalog (The Philippines' official language) as well though, I guess. Anyway, enjoy!
(seems to be The Secret of the Old Mill)

(As near as I can tell, I think this one is The Missing Chums)- The cover bears a good bit of similarity to the Grossett & Dunlap revised edition as you can tell-)
(http://imgc.allpostersimages.com/images/P-473-488-90/57/5787/5TQTG00Z/posters/hardy-boys-the-missing-chums.jpg) (http://imgc.allpostersimages.com/images/P-473-488-90/57/5787/5TQTG00Z/posters/hardy-boys-the-missing-chums.jpg)
Reminds me of the video game cover art.
It does bear some similarity to that. From what I can tell, this is a fairly recent release (i.e. within the last 10 years), so it may well have been released around the same time as the video games.
I enjoy seeing the international covers of many Hardy Boys books, cool idea, MacGyver. ;D
Thanks, Hardy Sleuth. I will probably just use this thread to post any others I may happen to run across in Internet searches, etc. :)
So you started out with reading the British editions and then found the American ones, MacGyver? :)
Yep.
Well, you should check out the Hardy Boys Wikia since we've got some Israeli covers on there as well, for the following books:

8) Yep, those are so very cool, Tomswift2002! 8) Especially the covers for
Secret of the Old Mill and
The Great Airport Mystery. I wanted to upload some pictures of Hardy Boys Hebrew covers from my computer as soon as MacGyver started this thread, but it didn't work out. I have pictures of those books as well as
The Hidden Harbor Mystery and
Mark on the Door and
The Pentagon Spy. 8) Also some Nancy Drew Hebrew covers. :) The Hebrew ones are my favorites. 8) :) 8) ;D
Cool! Thanks for the links, man. :)
And I'll look forward to seeing those Hebrew Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew covers whenever you can post them, Hardy Sleuth. 8)

Mark on the Door (http://www.ebay.com/itm/HARDY-BOYS-Mark-on-the-Door-dixon-hebrew-1st-ed-Rare-/360185096073?pt=US_Childrens_Books&hash=item53dcb46789%3Cbr%20/%3E/) from ebay I found. :) From Israel. 8)
Interesting how they put the G&D cover inside the Wanderer Window.
But if you have any pictures you could always attach ten to the correct Hardy Boys Wikia page just like I did for those Hebrew covers.

Sure, I'd like to add to the cool Hardy Boys Wikia page! :)
Man, I haven't been on the HB Wiki on such a long time. Hopefully they're isn't too much vandalism on the site...
I see some random junk on there every now and then...I imagine there are just some folks who enjoy trolling The Hardy Boys wiki page...
anyway- thanks for the Hebrew cover link, Hardy Sleuth.

In the same vein, here's a good site (http://www.series-books.com/nancydrew/nancydrew.html) to see a number of international Nancy Drew book covers. The Danish ones are pretty interesting- some of those seem to be presenting Nancy Drew like a model rather than a detective on the case...
British cover for While The Clock Ticked :) 8)

Yep, this Varty cover is a firm favorite of mine:
With the amount of parodies/homages I've seen online to the Grossett & Dunlap version of this Hardy Boys cover, While The Clock Ticked seems to be a favorite for a lot of people. It's certainly one of mine- great cover and great story. 8)
I'm pretty positive this has been posted before- I think Dinosaur Dan posted it somewhere- but I'll post it again here (http://www.synsine.com/art.html) just in case- here is a link to a number of the American cover art paintings for many of The Hardy Boys Casefiles, Supermysteries ('88) and The Nancy Drew Files books as well as one of The New Bobbsey Twins books. (I don't know that all of the links work though.)
This Portuguese cover of The Mystery of the Flying Express is pretty cool! :) 8)
(http://www.hardy-boys.com/portuguese_verbo_20.jpg) (http://www.hardy-boys.com/portuguese_verbo_20.jpg)
(Of course, it borrows the design from the Armada books released in England and that's mainly what I find so cool- I've always really liked both the Armada and Collins releases. The Grossett & Dunlap releases are great too, of course- but the British covers seemed to make the books look even more exciting in the artwork.)
Indonesian Hardy Boys book- I think it's The Vanishing Thieves, since the cover looks similar to the American Wanderer edition.
(http://media-cache-ec6.pinterest.com/550x/70/a4/0f/70a40f10ca4d77a26968636d067a6766.jpg) (http://media-cache-ec6.pinterest.com/550x/70/a4/0f/70a40f10ca4d77a26968636d067a6766.jpg)
Well, from what one online translation service says, the title is "Syndicate Of Car Thieves".
From what I recall of the plot of the book, that sounds right.
Here's a great blog (http://hardy-guttene.blogspot.no/) for Norwegian Hardy Boys books with a number of covers. :) 8)
This is a great Norway Hardy Boys site (http://www.hardyguttene.webs.com/) too.
(http://www.antiquariaten.be/img/fotos/165087_1.jpg) (http://www.antiquariaten.be/img/fotos/165087_1.jpg)
I'm thinking this is maybe a German copy of Deathgame- Note the altered cover art that leaves Frank off and just has Joe and the girl together. (Unless that's Frank hiding out under the bush back there.)
It actually looks like a repainted cover. Plus, that's Dutch writing on the cover (it says "Of Life And Death"). But it's interesting how the book is just from the Hardy Boys series in The Netherlands.
Ah- okay, thanks for the correction.
I believe this is the cover of The Crowning Terror (#6 in The Hardy Boys Casefiles) as released in Netherlands.
(http://www.marktplaza.nl/images/1/79/The-Hardy-Boys-Sprong-in-de-diepte-Case-6-12738879.jpg) (http://www.marktplaza.nl/images/1/79/The-Hardy-Boys-Sprong-in-de-diepte-Case-6-12738879.jpg)
And here's, as far as I can tell, a copy of The Tower Treasure, (I'm pretty sure it must be, judging from the artwork and the number 1 on the cover), but I am not sure what country this originates from- nice touch with the logo though. Ties in well to the overall look from the Undercover Brothers look and the Hardy Boys video games.
(http://www.jagatreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/hardy-boys.jpg) (http://www.jagatreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/hardy-boys.jpg)
And here's one I have no idea which book it is [or what country it's from]- Judging from the name of the file though, I think it is Skin & Bones (#164 in The Hardy Boys Mystery Stories series).
(http://www.gunlukkitap.com/6577-large/hardy-kardesler-4-deri-ve-kemik-the-hardy-boys-4-skin-bones.jpg) (http://www.gunlukkitap.com/6577-large/hardy-kardesler-4-deri-ve-kemik-the-hardy-boys-4-skin-bones.jpg)
And while this thread (and Web site, of course) is primarily devoted to The Hardy Boys, I thought I would post this here for Nancy Drew fans, since she is their literary sister or at least cousin anyway- here's an entire site devoted to international Nancy Drew book covers- http://www.nancydrewworld.com/ (http://www.nancydrewworld.com/) :) 8)
And here's an entire website (http://www.hardyguttene.webs.com/) for Norway printings of Hardy Boys books. :) 8)
Yep, that's The Tower Treasure and it's Indonesian/Malaysian, first two words means hidden treasure, then house, and last word means tower. The one with the skull is Turkish and yep, you're right about what title that is also, MacGyver. And just so you know, I didn't already know all that, looked it up on Google. :D
Okay- cool to know. Thanks for looking that up, Hardy Sleuth. :) 8)

Here's a cool Spanish Hardy Boys cover:

And according to the page I found this on, this book is a copy of Hunting for Hidden Gold. (or Oro Escondido en Espanol.)
Published by Editorial Bruguera in 1976, the book is an "edicion ilustrada" and features cartoon-like panels scattered throughout the text.
Cover features original artwork by Carlos Enrique Lencinas.
I don't think I've seen these before- pretty cool! :) 8)
Here's my copy of the Spanish edition of Shore Road Mystery ? it contains no less than 30 of those excellent comic-book style illustrations!

Nice! Thanks for posting. I also like how the main characters from each book are displayed on the spine. (Of course, that could be a bad thing too though if the main villian is always on the spine- you'd hate to have a pictorial spoiler like that on each book...)

This is the British rerelease of The Hardy Boys Casefiles that happened a few years back- the designs are quite different from the standard American releases. And this particular book (#117 in The Hardy Boys Casefiles) got a name change from Blood Sport to Duel with Death.
Netherlands release of #5 in The Hardy Boys Casefiles, Edge of Destruction.

nice finds Mac.
Thanks. :) 8)
as near as I can tell, a Spanish copy of The Missing Chums :) 8)

German printing of one of The Hardy Boys books- I'm not sure, but I think it's The Clue of the Hissing Serpent. (The actual title on the book roughly translates to The Curse of the Jewel's King. Judging from the artwork on the cover and the plot of the book, I think that's the most likely guess.)
I also think it is The Clue of The Hissing Serpent.
Thanks for the added confirmation. :)
