Title: The Mark On The Door (1967)
Post by: tomswift2002 on August 03, 2014, 08:22:09 AM
When the boys are out in Barmet Bay, enjoying an afternoon of boating, the "Sleuth" gets rammed by another boat, the "Ira Q", and leads the boys on a mystery of a missing accountant, right into the heart of Mexico.

I'vee been re-reading the revised text of "The Mark On The Door recently, and it's been an interesting story.  It's funny how in the revised books the boys have been down to the Caribbean region twice---first was in "Footprints Under The Window" when the were in the Huella's, and now Mexico in "The Mark On The Door".

That's funny because I don't really think of Mexico as part of the Caribbean- continentally-speaking, it's part of North America. But the Mexican islands would be considered part of the Caribbean (http://www.caribbean.com/), so I guess it does count. I just tend to think more of the Caribbean islands in the Atlantic Ocean going down to the Caribbean Sea- everything from Cuba, Jamaica and Bahamas on down to Barbados, Grenada and Trinidad & Tobago.
