Title: What Would They Want For Christmas?
Post by: hardygirl847 on December 22, 2009, 12:26:31 AM
What would Joe or Frank want for Christmas? Considering all they already have...I think it would be hard to be their girlfriend or family members and figure out a present for each of them.

Probably a new type of camera that could shoot in the infra-red.

I think that's a great idea. The lastest technology to keep them a step ahead of the bad guys. ;)

True but they are teenagers too. I could see Joe wanting something more for fun like snowboarding gear or something like that.

Maybe a Jets jersey, too. That is his favorite football team, after all.

Well think of like this...aside from just using it on cases, Joe could also have some fun with it by taking pictures of some of the good-looking girls on cases.

LOL true...I could see Joe doing that unless Vanessa was in the picture. Heck he would probably still do it anyways.

Well in A Crime For Christmas (which takes place before Vanessa Bender was introduced) Joe was doing just that and that's how he met Fiona Fox.

Yeah I thought of that too when the camera was mentioned. I finally read that book and cracked up when he did that. Very true to Joe...always eyeing the ladies...discreetly or more often...not.. :)

A half-decent mission from ATAC. Something that has nothing to do with death threats and reality shows. Then again, that's almost impossible as long as $&$ are in charge of the series. ::)

LOL Yet another reason why the Casefiles should be reopened/continued!! They were ten times better!

Oh RevWolf...I do not dislike the UBs as much as Dan seems to...I am just a REALLY huge fan of the Casefiles. To me, they are the best and will always be the best. So anytime I can mention that they should be resurrected and continued...I take it.

I don't mean to slam the UBs or ATAC even though they are not my faves. To be honest, I haven't gotten into them enough to dislike them with justification. I just REALLY REALLY love the Casefiles. So I am a little biased.

No hard feelings I hope! :)

I will stop when they make a half decent UB. Not to mention I don't hate the whole UB series I just hate the recent ones (the trilogies) (even though a few of  UBs #1-10 were a mess, Rocky Road comes to mind) , and so far all the recent books  are about reality shows and death threats.

Oh dear...is this where the fists come out???

Not that you probably care but here is my humble opinion...

1. ANY book with Frank and Joe deserves to be read. They are the best!

2.  We can agree to disagree when it comes to certain things. There are people who do not care for Casefiles even though I LOVE them the most! It's a matter of opinion and what you grew up on for the most part...

3. We all love Frank and Joe so we have something in COMMON.

4. NOT all books are created equal however. For instance, everyone should realize that in 70+ years of the boys' existence...there have been many, many different writers. Some were good and some were not as good. What are you going to do? Nothing. All you can do is have your faves and your least faves.

OK I'm jumping off my little soapbox now.... :)

Revwolf...I haven't really had a chance to get into the UBs yet. Which ones do you recommend?

Thanks!

you're right, hardygirl. i'm just saying, be diplomatic! and a personal fave would be the mummy's curse.

Actually you should check out The Mummy Case, which is better than The Mummy's Curse.

No offense, but, in my humble opinion, The Mummy's Curse is one of the worst UB. A monkey helps the Hardys solve the case!

Reality check: I hate to say it, but even the best and most-loved Hardy Boys books that are great not literature. So it goes without saying, most of the UB are down right bad.

I was just stating fact. The Hardys do get helped by a monkey in that book. Also, I didn't say it WAS the worst UB book, I said, in my opinion, it was.

As for The Hardy Boys not being great literature...well, I'm sure that 99% of the people who have read them would agree on this.

It depends on what you consider "great literature". :)
