I found three Be A Detective: Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys that were published in 1984. #1 The Secret of The Nights's Sword, #2 Danger on Ice, and #3 The Feathered Serpent.  Would these be considered super mysteries?  I hadn't seen them before that's why.  Also how many more of these are there?

No, they are not part of the super mystery series of 1988. And by the way, there are at least four of them. I have #4 and it is called Secret Cargo.

The Be A Detective series was published from 1984-1985, ending three years before the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys Super Mystery series debutted in 1988.

In total, there were six volumes published, with 2 more being scheduled but then cancelled (#7 would've been called Jungle of Evil, with #8 being Ticket To Intrigue)

I'm guessing that Simon & Schuster wanted to test the waters to see if there was enough popularity in the "You Choose The Adventure" genre of books to see if it was worth branching the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew in that direction.  Obviously, it was not a success.

One other thing to note about this series, the last two volume (#5 The Alaskan Myster & #6The Missing Money Mystery)
were printed on very acidic paper, compared to the other 4 volumes, since the paper tended to brown very quickly.  All the volumes in the series are quite tough to find, with the first 4 being the hardest to locate.
